Abstract
The occurrence of spontaneous rupture of hepatoma is very rare in Western countries, but not infrequent. in Orient and some African district.
Strange enough, in Korea, where the incidence of hepatoma is relatively frequent, the case reports of spontaneous rupture of hepatoma are limited. 2 cases, 51 year old female and 25. year old male patient had admitted Seoul Red Cross Hospital due to spontaneous rupture of hepatoma during last 2 years. All had been misdiagnosed preoperatively and managed surgical. emergencies. The cause of their misdiagnosis seems to be due to rareness of its incidence, rapidly progressing nature of its disease process and relatively vague diagnostic clues of hepatoma or liver cirrhosis, sometimes.
We report their incidence, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, pathogenesis, treatment and. prognosis with the review of literatures.
